Cloud Services
Cloud computing refers to the on-demand availability of computer system resources, particularly data storage and computing power, without the user’s direct active management. There are four types of clouds: private clouds, public clouds, hybrid clouds, and multiclouds. There are three main types of cloud computing services: Cloud computing service models:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)and
- Software as a Service (SaaS)
About Cloud Services
Cloud Computing Service Models
Iaas
Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) is a type of cloud computing service that provides essential compute, storage, and networking resources on demand and on a pay-as-you-go basis.
SaaS
SaaS is also referred to as “On-Demand Software.” It is a model of software distribution in which services are hosted by a cloud service provider. Because these services are accessible via the internet end users do not need to install any software on their devices to use them.
PaaS
PaaS stands for Platform as a Service Platform as a Service (PaaS) provides a runtime environment. It enables programmers to easily create, test, run, and deploy web applications. These applications can be purchased from a cloud service provider on a pay-per-use basis and accessed via an Internet connection.
Types of CLOUD
Public Cloud
Public cloud is open to all to store and access information via the Internet using the pay-per-usage method. In public cloud, computing resources are managed and operated by the Cloud Service Provider (CSP).
Private Cloud
Private cloud is also known as an internal cloud or corporate cloud. It is used by organizations to build and manage their own data centers internally or by the third party.
It can be deployed using Opensource tools such as Openstack and Eucalyptus.
Based on the location and management, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) divide private cloud into the following two parts-
On-premise private cloud
Outsourced private cloud
Hybrid Cloud
Hybrid Cloud is a combination of the public cloud and the private cloud. we can say: Hybrid Cloud = Public Cloud + Private Cloud
Hybrid cloud is partially secure because the services which are running on the public cloud can be accessed by anyone,
while the services which are running on a private cloud can be accessed only by the organization’s users.
Community Cloud
Community cloud allows systems and services to be accessible by a group of several organizations to share the information between the organization and a specific community.
It is owned, managed, and operated by one or more organizations in the community, a third party, or a combination of them.
Example: Health Care community cloud
